Weekend Vacation

Right now I am sitting on my bed in the house we're staying this weekend looking out across a beautiful display of mountains with the golden sun rising up over them. It is truly breath taking. I have been looking forward to this week for a few weeks now. Work, school and music practice have been keeping me so busy I just really needed a break. We have gone across the state to the Carolina campmeeting, and are staying in a rental house with the Moores a few miles from the camp. So far it has been a blast. Em and I went out walking this morning. Mind you, walking! Living at 8 ft elevation and then going to 3 or 4 thousand really makes a difference on the speed of your mobility. But anyway it was so beautiful that it has just made our morning really shine. I'll post photos when I get home.

Busy Summer Days

As summer approaches the more stuff seems to find its way into our schedule. But here is a little of whats been happening around here lately.

A few weeks ago we spent a sabbath afternoon out at Joseph's family's vacation home on the river. Of course Our photographer took the opportunity to capture a few more images of the "two love birds".

I could not help myself in posting this one that my sidekick fixed up. I think you'll get a "kick" out of it (as my Grandpa would say).

Last week was quite the musical week. Tuesday I had my first piano recital. It was an experience to say the least. I enjoyed getting to see all the different students that my teacher has. Most were little boys between the ages of 6 and 12 which of course brought much amusement in watching them. I really enjoyed it over all.

But the best truly came that Sabbath evening after I had played the regular church stuff. That evening we went to our first real country band. A church member's husband had a large group of southern gospel instrumentalist and singers get together a couple time a month to sing. He had been asking us to come for some time, and so last Saturday evening we went. Several from our church went and we all ended up singing several hymns for them. Then some how I got roped into playing my violin as they had no fiddle that night. I have played that style a time or two, but it is not a style which I find "just flows from my heart". But it pleased those I was playing with and thats what I did it for. It was quite interesting though.

This week I have been trying to catch up on all my WDC office work that has been neglected. We are working non stop to get all the orders out before we leave in a couple of weeks for NC campmeeting. I am really looking forward to a day of rest tomorrow. It is much needed.
